Clinical Resources

The main function of the Clinical resources (CR) group is that of research support, whether this is in the provision to the research teams of clinical and biological specimens, or, in the provision of skilled technical support for the research groups.

All LLP clinic samples that arrive at the centre are recorded into the LLP database, processed and archived by the CR group. These samples include blood, bronchial lavage, sputum and tissue. All specimens are treated promptly after receipt and this provides an essential service which enables all the research groups.

The CR group is also responsible for the downstream processing and preparation of derived biological material (eg. DNA, RNA, protein extraction) from these samples
