Data Management

The main function of the Data Management (DM) group is:

  • Support for downloading of datasets
  • Ensuring the data quality of the dataset is continually improved
  • Facilitating the user requirements process and updating the database as required
  • Maintaining the up-to-date versions of the building blocks of the database Windows 2003, Universe and System builder
  • Liaising with 3 rd parties to improve the data quality

All LLP clinic samples and questionnaires are recorded into the LLP database. A number of modules exist:- appointments, blood details, sputum details, nursing notes, clinical data, tissue samples, frozen plasma samples, questionnaire, bronchial washings.

The LLP database is continually being updated both for data quality and system functionality and it is the role of the DM group to ensure this process occurs as smoothly as possible.
